Hello!
We hope you had a great and restful holiday season!
As we dive into 2025, we invite you to join the EA Philippines events and opportunities lined up for this year. Activities like the upcoming In-Depth Fellowship where you can learn and discuss more about EA concepts, the EA PH book drive where you can borrow and donate EA books, a new and improved EA Philippines website to provide more resources, and many more!
In this newsletter, you will find updates from the EA community last December. There are also a handful of opportunities currently ongoing – and we encourage you to check them out!
Here’s to a strong start of the year! 🎉🙌
📣 Highlights
SPOTLIGHT: EAGxSingapore
Over 50 Filipino attendees participated in EAGxSingapore, which was held last December 2024! 🇵🇭🇸🇬
A handful of Filipino EAs were also invited as speakers to present on their respective organizations working on interventions in mental health, AI safety, EA community building, and animal welfare. Several also helped manage the conference as volunteers!
Congratulations to everyone who was able to be a part of this exciting and inspiring conference. ❤️
We also have some great news that the Philippines will be hosting the next regional EAGx conference in 2025! We are hoping to see you there! 🥳
Updated EA Philippines Code of Conduct
At EA Philippines, we believe a healthy and supportive community is key to doing the most good. That's why we're excited to share our updated Code of Conduct! 🌱
This will guide how we create safe and welcoming spaces in all EA PH events moving forward. 💙 You may find the link for the Code of Conduct here.
For any Community Health concerns or feedback on the Code of Conduct, please don't hesitate to reach out to Sam Ackary, the Community Health point person, via Facebook or email: sam@effectivealtruism.ph! You can also submit feedback anonymously to the EA Philippines Team through our Anonymous Feedback Form here.
Let's continue to grow together as a community that values respect and collaboration! 😊
